Facts
There are almost 56 million people 65 and up in the US. Four out of five older adults will suffer from some illness or condition. About three million elderly age 65 and older are helped in emergency rooms a year. Over 1 billion people worldwide have a serious disability. Native Americans are most likely to have a disability with 17.7% saying they have a disability. More the 20 million people ages 18+ have reported serious mobility issues in 2015.
Existing solutions
The solution is a motorized couch called the La-Z-Boy that can tip forward to easily let people out of the chair.​ It helps the solution pretty well by propping the person up and lowering them. ​It could be better by the cost of it. It is also very big and takes up a lot of space.
Drafting chair
Its just an office chair that goes up and down to help people stand up.​
Its ok with addressing the problem.It addresses it by moving the hair up so you can slide off.​Its very expensive and you still need to use your hands.
Its a normal chair with bars on the side to help get up.​ It addresses the problem ok. It helps by using your upper body to stand and sit.​ It's all upper body and what if you don't have full mobility of your arms? It is also very big and clunky for a small chair.
